Mark Kazemba joined Blalack & Williams in
1998 and concentrates his practice on consumer financial services
regulatory compliance issues. Prior to joining the firm, Mark served as
in-house compliance counsel at a $1 billion credit union. Mark advises
credit unions and other financial institutions and vendors in complying
with the myriad laws and
regulations affecting deposit and loan operations, including
the USA PATRIOT ACT, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and privacy
regulations, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Equal Credit
Opportunity Act, the Electronic Fund Transfers Act, the Truth in
Savings Act, and the Truth in Lending Act. Mark has particular
expertise in credit card compliance, electronic banking, and indirect
lending issues. He has provided seminar instruction and training for
the Texas Credit Union League and the National Credit Union
Administration. Mark is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas
Association of Bank Counsel, the Conference on Consumer Finance Law,
and the Dallas Area Compliance Association. He also serves as the
membership chairman for the Credit Union Committee of the American Bar
Association's Business Law Section, and as the vice president of
programs for the Financial Institutions Legal Counsel Network (Dallas,
TX).
